Dan Evans has gradually been earning valuable ATP ranking points on the ITF Futures circuit after injury problems earlier in the season.
Getting his ranking high enough to enter into ATP Challengers again has been his focus and now there the Brit is showing exactly what he can do!
Today he gets the best win of the week against USA rising star Jared Donaldson to reach the ATP Knoxville Challenger final. He is up to 220th provisionally for Monday and if Dan can win the title he will re-enter the ATP top 200 and be pushing for an Australian Open qualifying spot in Melbourne in January.
His lack of experience or liking for clay will probably mean Dan will not figure in the Davis Cup final in a few weeks but he certainly could be a fixture in 2016 if his results continue to move him up the rankings.
Can he get back to the form of 2013 which saw him reach the 3rd round of the US Open? Yes I think he could and possibly even further up the rankings in 2016. It will be fun watching anyway.
