It was a slow start for 2 time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova as she represented her country in the 1st rubber of the 2015 Fed Cup final on home turf in Prague. Playing an in-form Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova the Czech player struggled early and lost the first set 2-6 to the Russian. However Kvitova's weapons started to work better in the 2nd set and her power was too much in the end. With Anastasia's consistency a problem throughout her career Petra must have always believed she could mount a comeback and Kvitova dominated the last two sets to win 2-6 6-1 6-1 and give the Czechs a very important first rubber win in the 2015 Federation Cup Final in front of her home supporters. Next up its the turn of Maria Sharapova to try and level the tie on day 1 of this final. It won't be easy though with Karolina Pliskova a very tricky opponent.
