6 time former champion Roger Federer was in solid form on the opening day of the ATP World Tour Finals this evening.
Having seen top seed Novak Djokovic ease to victory earlier in the day, Roger wanted to avoid a potential upset against Tomas Berdych. Although the Swiss Master lost serve early in the match he never looked back and once he had the break to go 5-4 up in the 1st set Federer dominated from there on defeating Tomas 6-4 6-2.
Roger won 86% of 1st serves and joined Novak Djokovic at the top of there Stan Smith Group as everyone had already predicted would happen when the draw was made.
Federer has won over $13,000,000 at this tournament alone in his career and it will be interesting to see how his match goes with Djokovic later in the week.
Tomorrow sees Andy Murray in action against David Ferrer in the afternoon - Follow the match via @thetennistalker on twitter
