Andy Murray got off to the perfect start by breaking Rafa Nadal in the 1st game of the match. But from then on it was a lacklustre performance from the world number 2 who struggled with his 1st serve all match and although he defended many breakpoints to get to 4-4 in the 1st set from then on it was very one sided. Rafa played the consistent tennis and Andy quickly folded with some erratic shots losing serve to love in consecutive games. during the match
Many have questioned Murray's motivation for this tournament and feel Andy wants to keep his energy for the Davis Cup final next week against Belgium and from this display today I tend to agree.
Andy now must try and defeat Wawrinka in the last round robin match on Friday to secure his place in the semi-finals but will have to play a lot better than today in order to do that
