Its Monday! and we all know what that means....... new ATP rankings!!
What is even more exciting is that we had plenty of British men's success last week so we knew we could see some big rises for the Brits.
Kyle Edmund had a great week in Buenos Aires managing to dominate his matches against a collection of Argentine clay court specialists to win the Challenger tournament. The 20 year zooms up 11 spots and back inside the ATP top 100 to 99th which should be good enough to give him direct entry to the Australian Open in January.
Dan Evans surprised many in the Knoxville Challenger by again powering his way into the final yesterday and then fighting from a set down to defeat USA teen hope Francis Tiafoe 5-7 6-1 6-3 to lift his first ATP Challenger title since 2009 in Jersey. As a result Dan jumped a huge 86 places in the ATP rankings all the way up to ATP 185th. Even more note worthy is Dan was ranked outside the ATP top 750 at the start of July so his improvement is evident to see. Lets hope he stays hit and healthy.
Liam Broady moved back inside the ATP top 300 to 296th but 2015 hasn't been great for Liam and only his 1st round win at Wimbledon a highlight
Lloyd Glasspool has been winning matches at ITF Futures level and rises another 83 places to 583rd in the ATP rankings and I think he could move higher in 2016 even capable of a top 250 spot. Lloyd has also been going well in doubles events with Josh Ward-Hibbert and this week both make big rises in the ATP doubles rankings
Neil Pauffley who recently won a $15k title in GB Futures rises 192 spots up to 599th and again he will be looking in 2016 to set himself a new PB ranking and stay fit.
Jonny O'Mara up 156th to 903rd is another notable riser in the rankings.
In the ATP doubles rankings its great to see @k_skupski ranked back inside the ATP top 100 at 97th with brother @nealskupski just behind at 102nd after having a good week in the Bratislava Challenger.
Evan Hoyt recently won a $15k doubles title and rises 83 spots to 458th while his doubles partner in that win Billy Harris jumps 178 places to 728th
Good Luck to all the Brits in action this week....... ATP points still available at all levels to give a boost before the 2016 season.
