GB Men
Kyle Edmund - The big hope for British men's tennis after Andy Murray retires (hopefully not for a long time yet!) Kyle has already broken into the ATP top 100 and now has a Davis Cup trophy already at 20 years old. His main problem in 2016 is that he will have to try and defend his ATP Challenger points by playing against tougher players at ATP level. However the rewards for wins at ATP level offer plenty more points and £ so if he gets good draws and gains more confidence he could have a very good season.
Dan Evans - His 2013/2014 breakthrough at ATP and Grand Slam level fell flat but now Dan has showed signs he is getting back to his best. His Challenger results at the end of 2015 have pushed him back inside the ATP top 200. Dan main problem is staying focused and his desire to play week in week out putting in maximum effort. If he can do this then Evans is very capable of an ATP top 100 spot.
Cameron Norrie - Excellent prospect for Team GB. Still only 20 and gaining good results in ITF Futures in USA at the moment. Needs to get that ranking inside the top 500 first of all and then keep gaining experience.
Liam Broady - Horrid season on 2015 except for his Wimbledon 1st round win. Broady needs to learn how to close out matches and also get back on a winning mentality. Still only 21 so he has time but really should be pushing on now rather than slipping back
Luke Bambridge - Potential to improve is stays focused. Would love to see this youngster head towards the ATP top 250 in 2016
Evan Hoyt - Struggled with injury but a former Davis Cup junior champion for GB. Had good results lately in ITF Tunisia and hoping he can continue to climb.
Lloyd Glasspool - Impressing after getting his education and now ready to move up those ATP rankings. Not many points to defend in first half of 2016 and could well challenge for an ATP top 250 spot also.
Alexander Ward - Talented and got his best win of his career in Bogota a few weeks ago against Estrella Burgos. Can play on all surfaces. Has plenty of ITF success and experience and now time to push on to consistent Challenger level. Still to see the best of Alex and hopefully he can break the ATP top 250 in 2016.
GB Women
Jo Konta - Can she continue her 2015 in 2016? She needs a good start and plays Shenzhen first up. The Brit has a chance of reaching into the WTA top 30 if she can keep her consistency. Hopefully she doesn't feel the pressure of the British expectation and media if she does perform well.
Heather Watson - We all know her talents and the results. Needs to find a way to gain consistency week in week out and has lost her winning mentality. The loss to Serena at Wimbledon seemed to hit her hard for the rest of 2015. Top 50 again in 2016 but not sure how much further she can go up those WTA rankings?
Laura Robson - Huge game but will injuries stop her from reaching potential. Not sure what 2016 holds for Laura but its a make or break year for the 21 year old.
Naomi Broady - Some horrific collapses in matches in recent weeks doesn't bode well for Naomi after she had showed signs of increased consistency and match play especially with her weapon - her serve. Would love for her to go WTA top 100 but needs a big push
Katie Dunne - Didn't progress in 2015 like we wanted but has great potential and just needs to regain her confidence. Ranking just inside the WTA top 300 but now needs to push on into the top 200. Another player who needs to work on closing matches out and not looking back.
Katie Swan - The BIG hope of British tennis. Katie will have a limited schedule on ITF/WTA circuit as still not 18 but hopefully will be given some chances to show what she can do especially on British grass courts.
Maia Lumsden - Talented British junior who is going to start her progress on ITF circuit in 2016. Would hope she can push towards the WTA top 500 next year
Harriett Dart - Faltered a bit late in the season and didn't push on like I thought she may. Travels a lot which is good to see and still young. Shows glimpses of stardom but needs to push on in 2016 and starting gaining consistency at ITF level.
Gabriella Taylor - Another teenage talent who has started to get $10k ITF success in South Africa in the last few months. Has had success at junior level on the big stage and I think she is a BIG talent and future WTA top 100 player
Freya Christie - Broke into the WTA top 400 with ease and only just turned 18. Freya is gaining experience fast and just needs to learn how to close out matches and turn the screw when she gets the chance. Could well be a WTA top 50 player in the next few years.
Katie Boulter - Not sure when she will return to the courts but could be another future star of British tennis. Hopefully she returns in 2016 and starts her ascent back up the rankings
Emily Arbuthnott - Impressed in 2015 at junior level and then taking this to her fledgling ITF career. Top 500 should be her target in 2016.
Mirabelle Njoze - Plays in Tunisia and Turkey week in week out and reached 15 x $10k ITF QFs on 2015. Needs to show this experience in 2016 and go further in these draws and step up to $25k events. Hard to know what to expect here.
